My dear Ylvie, my heart aches from the distance and time we have been apart. I do long to hear your voice. During our time apart I have been able to think of our future together, and I have also been able to reflect the wrongs I have done unto you.
I hope after this war is over, I will be in your arms and we can buy a farm in the countryside or even a shop in Zweites Lebenvale. I know you love the comfort of the city walls. I hope we can have many many children. Many hand to work and many mouths to feed I believe you said you wanted! I have been learning melodies and lullabies on my guitarre. I know! You can make up the lyrics for my melodies. Oh how great will it be! I shall play and you sing. Oh how I miss home.
On the nights alone, I feel much pain. I was wrong to have said I love you before leaving for the battlefields and marry you on the day of our wedding. Every night I curse myself for being a coward. I should have confessed my love to you many years before this war came upon us. When I come back home, I will kiss your hands and feet and ask for your forgiveness.
My heart wishes to tell you what has been happening in the battlefield, but I fear what I tell you will darken your innocent heart. I will just say that 3 nights ago, I saved a witch from the rest of my company. Her name was Korrin. She had red hair with green streaks, wearing earrings of bone, witchmark on her cheaks, and she was called beautiful by many men of my company. However, that maybe have been the cause of her troubles. They were planning to defile and drown her, all because she told them their fortunes which they requested from her. She warned them of dark future that would come to all our homes and families. I was able to convince them that she was not worth the rope which they wanted to bind her with. I had to wrestle with a few of my comrades before they could see reason. She thanked me profusely. I provided her food, a cloak, and a walking staff before sending her away from the camp.
I am sorry my dear I fear this letter must be shorter than the last. We are about to range into uncharted woods... But at why this late of then night?
Forever yours,
Angvalk Dovken
